Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026. Version 2026-10-12.

This policy describes the consumer health data that Vanguard Training Systems LLC collects, why, who receives it, and how to exercise your rights. It applies to everyone who uses Vanguard and adds to our Privacy Policy.

2. Why

Only to provide the coaching requested:

  • to write, deliver and adjust training;
  • to decide whether to reduce or hold throwing on a given day;
  • to analyze movement and performance;
  • to respond to pain reports and refer to licensed providers;
  • to keep records of what was programmed and reported.

We do not use consumer health data for advertising and we do not sell it. We do not use it or video to train or validate any AI model without a separate written consent.

3. Consent

We collect consumer health data only after consent, given through a separate unchecked checkbox that links to this policy:

  • on the application, for height, weight and performance numbers;
  • at onboarding, for everything else.

For an athlete under 18, the parent or guardian consents from their own account.

You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal stops future collection. Because the coaches cannot coach safely without knowing about pain and injuries, withdrawing the onboarding consent ends coaching without penalty: remaining monthly payments are cancelled and unused prepaid coaching is refunded.

4. Who receives it

RecipientRole
Vanguard's coaches (currently Jackson Thorne and Kurt Thomas)Coaching
Supabase, Inc.Database and file storage, as our processor
Vercel, Inc.Hosting and video-analysis processing, as our processor
Anthropic, PBCCoach programming assistance. It receives coach-entered programming text after athlete identifiers are replaced with a code, and that text may include training or health details. Information sent to Anthropic is processed in the United States.
Third parties for their own purposesNone. Stripe receives billing information only. Google Drive files stay in the athlete's own account under Google's terms.

We do not sell consumer health data. Selling would require a signed authorization, and we have no plans to ask for one.

5. Location

We do not collect precise location data or use geofencing.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • confirm whether we collect, share or sell consumer health data;
  • get a copy, plus a list of every processor and third party that received it, with their contact information;
  • withdraw consent;
  • have it deleted, including from processors. Backups are overwritten within 7 days.
  • appeal a refusal.

How to make a request: email jackson@vanguardtrainingsystems.com from the account email with the subject "Health data request," or message your coaches in the app.

  • We respond within 45 days, with one 45-day extension if reasonably necessary. We tell you if we use it.
  • If we refuse, we explain why. You may appeal within 45 days by replying "Appeal," and we decide within 45 days.
  • Washington residents may contact the Washington Attorney General at atg.wa.gov.

7. Security

Access is limited to the coaches and to processors performing services for us. Data is protected with encryption in transit, encryption at rest by our providers, database access rules and multi-factor authentication for coaches.

8. Retention

Kept while the athlete is coached and for 3 years after coaching ends, then deleted or de-identified. Jump-test videos are deleted 12 months after upload. Deletion on request happens sooner.

9. Changes and contact

We give at least 30 days' notice of material changes and never use consumer health data for a new purpose without new consent.
